Loss
of weight or simple aging changes may lead to excess skin
being present in the upper arms. Cosmetic surgery may hold
the answer for some of these cases. This skin may also interfere
with dressing and the full range of motion. An upper arm lift
(brachioplasty), can remove this excess skin and tissue, giving
an improved appearance to the arms. This procedure can be
combined with liposuction in selected cases to improve the
results.
Bleeding, bruising, swelling, surgical dog ears and a scar
along the inside of the arm can be expected in this procedure.
Arm lift is a procedure which requires very careful consideration
on the part of the patient and there is no substitute for
a detailed consultation to avoid disappointment. Minor degrees
of skin laxity may be treated successfully with Thermage.
All surgical procedures carry certain risks and there are
limitations of what can be achieved. A full and frank discussion
with the Plastic Cosmetic surgeons at Sthetix clinics is the
only way to gain a clear insight into the procedure and allow
you to make an informed decision about your surgery.
Inner Thigh Lift
This
is performed under general anaesthetic, requiring an over
night hospital stay. The scars are very noticeable with this
operation as the incisions are made along the inner thigh
from the knee up to the groin. In some cases if extra lift
is needed the incision is carried along either the groin or
the buttock fold. Again the excess skin and fat are removed,
and the incision is stitched back together (using dissolvable
sutures) giving an improved appearance to the thighs. This
procedure can be combined with liposuction in selected cases
to improve the results.
