Mr. Alvi commenced his career in Surgery in 1985 and has worked in Plastic Surgery since 1993. He is an NHS Plastic and Reconstructive Consultant Surgeon who appears on the specialist register of the General Medical Council, he also holds the specialist FRCS (plastic surgery) qualification. His specialist area within the NHS is breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery. He specialises in breast cosmetic surgery, Liposuction, and Tummy Tucks.

He is also involved in the training and teaching of trainee palstic surgeons at both local and national levels. He is a tutor on the Plastic Surgery Core Skills Course at the Royal Collage of Surgons.

Mr Alvi has written numerous research papers on plastic surgery and presented his work at many national and international seminars and conferences.

Mr. Alvi is a member of British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and British Association of Plasticand Reconstructive Surgeons (BAPRAS).
