The three main causes of cellulite are as follows:

Cynosure Laser company have produced the Cellulaze laser, the innovative, minimally invasive surgical treatment designed to reduce cellulite by treating the three problems thought to cause it, thus restoring the normal structure of the skin and underlying connective tissue.

The innovative Cellulaze technology treats cellulite by reducing fat, cutting the fibres causing the dimpling of skin and tightening the skin by thickening and improving the elasticity.

The proprietary ‘SideLight 3D’ side-firing technology directs controlled, laser thermal energy to the treatment zones.
The treatment is carried out under local anaesthetic with or without light sedation. After anaesthesia is induced, the laser fibre is introduced under the skin and treatment commences. The first part of treatment is to reduce fat in bulging areas of cellulite. The next phase is to cut the fibres of tissue causing the dimpling, and finally the laser is used to stimulate tightening of skin (which can continue to improve the appearance over the course of several months)

Cellulaze treatment has been shown to produce long term improvement in the visible manifesations of cellulite. Results of studies at 2 years have demonstrated a sustained reduction in the appearance of cellulite.
