Experience

Ms McPhail is a Consultant Burns and Plastic Surgery Prosthetist and Managing Director of Prosthetic Innovations Ltd. She works both privately and within the NHS in Merseyside.

Ms McPhail qualified from Manchester University in 1997 and had has worked in Burns and Plastic Surgery at Whiston Hospital since 1998. In 2011 she also took over the role of delivering technical services to the Maxillofacial Unit at Aintree University Hospital Trust.

Providing a service that is both unique and patient centred, she often deals with those individuals who have gone through huge trauma in their lives leaving them with disfiguring results due to cancer, congenital anomalies or severe burn injury.

Ms McPhail has a wealth of experience in treating patients with debilitating scars, providing essential treatments and camouflage with specially designed products and medical tattooing.

She designs and manufactures bespoke training and teaching models and has been instrumental in the way Plastic Surgery techniques have been taught to junior doctors. She provides international surgical training for all levels of medical and clinical staff.

Ms McPhail has written numerous research papers on plastic surgery and prosthetics has and presented her work at many national and international seminars and conferences.
