How Does A Hair Transplant Work?

How do Hair Transplants work?

While there has been a considerable increase in the popularity of hair restoration procedures in recent years, perhaps you have some questions about the procedure itself?

Hair Transplants are minimally invasive.

A hair transplant is a minimally invasive process that requires a “donor area” of hair follicles to be taken under local anaesthesia, usually from the back of the head as this is the most tried and tested method with high safety and success records.

FUE and FUT Hair Transplantation methods

At Sthetix Clinic, we offer both types of hair transplant: FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation). The methods primarily differ in the way your hair follicles are extracted from the donor area.

The recovery process after a Hair Transplant

The entire hair restoration process is carried out over a number of treatments, depending on the size of the targeted area. However, once your treatment course is completed, you can rest easy knowing that no repeat treatments should be required, and the results are almost always long-term. The aftercare and recovery period is also minimal, although you are unlikely to see noticeable results right away. A short period of uncomfortable swelling is to be expected for around 3 days following your treatment. Antibiotics are also prescribed during this time, but you should be able to return to work within a week or less.
